Trip Highlights
Shroud of Turin
During the special 2010 exhibition, we have the rare priveledge to visit the Shroud of Turin, which is not scheduled to be exhibited again until 2025.
While in Turin, we'll visit the highlights of the city - Po Street, Piazza San Carlo, and the Mount of the Capuchin Monks.
Milan
We'll visit the Duomo - the Cathedral of Milan - a beautiful Gothic building and Santa Marie delle Gracie to see Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper". We'll also see La Scala - the world famous Opera House, and Basilica of St. Ambrose. We'll take the fast train from Milan to Rome - making a quick trip through the Italian countryside.
Rome
Once in Rome, we'll enjoy a walking tours the only way to really see the city. We will visit Ancient Rome including the Colisium, Forum and Pantheon. We'll see the Patriarchal Basilicas and some of the major churches ~ St. Peters, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, San Clemente. And some of the Titular churches including San Prasadde,
While we enjoy the beautiful piazzas - You may want to stop and sip a cappucino while gazing at one of Rome's famous fountains.
& The Vatican
Our private tours will include St. Peters Square and Basilica, The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. We'll join the Holy Father in praying the Regina Coeli on Sunday. And we're planning private tours of the Scavi Excavations below St. Peters - a priveledge reserved for only 200 visitors each day.
Daily Mass
Fr. Steve will celebrate mass each day in some of the most incredible and historic churches you could imagine, including at the Tomb of St. Peter!
Private Walking Tours
All our tours are private - limited to our small group. You won't be on of hundreds trying desperately hear what our guide is saying. Our group will be small - maybe 40 people. And we'll use wireless earphones so we can all hear. With a smaller group, you won't be waiting to gather a huge group before moving on to the next stop!
Fully Escorted
We have an experienced professional Tour Manager who will manage all the details of our trip. He'll greet us with our private motor coach and driver when we arrive in Milan- and make sure that all our arrangements are taken care of.
Lost reservations? Visiting hours changed from when we planned? A site is closed for the day? Not a problem! We've got professionals who will juggle the schedule, re-route the bus and make the phone calls that get us back on track!
Professional Guides
We have some of the best Local Guides in Italy! They're so good, don't be surprised if we get a few additions clinging to the edge of our group when we're visiting a site! Our guides will introduce you to the area we're visiting, answer your questions, and then let us visit a while on our own.
Ground Transportation
We'll have a private motor coach when we travel as a group - from the Airport and Hotels, Milan to Turin, and when our day's activities are just a little too far to make a walking tour of the day. Contact Maureen (909) 816-3032 or Linda (505) 506-6284 to arrange meeting with the group.
Meals are included!
Breakfast is included every day - usually a self-serve buffet. There's enough options to satisfy every appetite! Dinners are included on all but two evenings in Rome. On our afternoons that end in free time, we're really letting you have free time. And after an introduction to the city, you'll want to branch out a little on your own. Maybe you want to celebrate a special event with a private dinner - or enjoy dinner on the piazza with a big group of new friends!
We have Lunch on our own each day. Our energy levels are all different, \if we schedule a sit-down lunch for the group, it's too late in the day for some, way too early for others and restricts the flexibility we all want! Most days we'll have a generous block of time, and plenty of cafes available to have an inexpensive pizza, sandwich or cappucino while siteseeing or shopping. If a relaxing sit-down meal is more your style, you'll have that option too! And there are always plenty of markets to pick up a piece of fruit or your favorite snacks.
